About us Marcel
He brings 25-plus years of experience in multiple engineering and managerial positions within SMEs in the high-tech manufacturing and product development industry. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and bachelor’s degrees in both industrial automation and industrial product development. His areas of expertise are (military) system innovation, technology- & product development and operations management.
Among other positions, he was accountable for manufacturing facilities and for developing and expanding the operations of fiber-optic spectroscopy instruments and systems. His teams were granted several projects under the EU 7th Framework Programme for Research-, and Horizon 2020 Funding programme. He also served as CTO for an optical sensor technology start-up company within the medical technology focusing on Haptic-Feedback in the field of laparoscopic minimal invasive surgery (MIS).
As a reservist (NLD-Army) and an engineer, Marcel is bridging the gap between the military and the industrial world. In this respect, he held military positions as a Liaison Staff Officer for the Dutch Defence industry and contributed to the capabilities insight in the Defence-Industry-Strategy (NLD-DIS2018) and the initial steps within the Netherlands of the European Defence Fund in cooperation with industry, government and military.
